WELCOME
I am excited about the opportunity to work with your child this year and getting to know him/her better. I look forward to a happy and productive year. Teaching philosophy As a teacher, I have high expectations of the students because I believe everyone is capable of learning and being successful. I also believe children benefit best from a structured classroom. I will achieve this by using rules and procedures established in the classroom, ensuring consistency, allowing them to feel comfortable and confident in a learning environment. Educational Background I began pursuing a degree in education at Austin Community College, later transferring to Texas State University in 2011. I received my certificate in EC-6th grade along with special education in 2014. I received my masters degree in special education in 2017. Experience While attending college, I worked full-time as a preschool teacher at various private schools in Westlake, working with children whose ages ranged from six months to five years. I began my time at Barton Creek elementary during the Fall of 2014 as a student teacher. Following student teaching, I became a teacher assistant with the special education department at Barton Creek. I have been supporting elementary students as an inclusion teacher since 2015. On a Personal Note I am passionate about traveling and exploring the world, and I hope to combine this passion with that of teaching and one day teaching abroad. I enjoy painting and taking my very energetic dog to the many parks all over beautiful Austin. |
